This IS a blog mainly about my baking so I thought I would share this slice recipe that I baked for my dad! I first made this slice at school for food technology and after my dad tasted it he asked me to make it again!
 |
| Yum! My piece of slice :) |
Ingredients
- 1 cup of un-toasted muesli
- 1 cup of rolled oats
- 1 cup of self raising flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup shredded coconut
- 125g dried fruit (I used dried apricots)
- 150g butter (I used spread, but it does taste better with butter)
- 2 tablespoons golden syrup
- 1 egg (preferably size 6, but it doesn't matter too much)
BEFORE YOU START: Line a slice tin with baking paper (my one measured 21cm by 21cm) and pre-heat oven to 150c
 |
| Mix together first 6 ingredients in a large bowl. |
 |
| Melt butter and golden syrup in a saucepan over a low heat |
 |
| Fully melted together! |
 |
| Pour the melted butter and syrup into bowl and mix |
 |
| Add and egg and mix again |
 |
| All mixed together! |
 |
| Pour into tray and press down so it's all flat and compact in the tin |
 |
| Bake in the oven for about 30 mins or until it starts to go golden brown on the top. Cut into slices only when the mixture has cooled in the tin for a while |
This recipe is quite easy, and is a great alternative to store-bought muesli bars! Enjoy!
Aren't you lovely making this for your dad! He must have loved it to ask you to make it again :)
