Old Fashioned Gingerbread!

Don't you just love old recipes from when your grandparents were young? I think that with baking especially some of the best recipes are the oldest! This is a old-fashioned gingerbread recipe that I came across when I had a craving for gingerbread. I got the recipe from here. What's also great about this recipe is it has less butter and sugar than traditional gingerbread so you can feel good eating it :)
Yummy!

Melt the butter and the golden syrup

Cream together the sugar and egg

Add the melted syrup mixture and mix

Add the sifted dry ingredients except baking soda

Mix

Combine baking soda and milk

Add to the mixture

Mix! The mixture will be quite runny

Put in loaf tin

Bake!

  2. wow, at first I thought it looked like banana bread. I've only really had gingerbread as in the cookie kind, not this kind but it looks really good! :D
